NOTE: This app is not available for download for Android users. Please see our support article for an alternative app for Android devices.

  1. Login to the FDT Web interface.
  2. Click the “Config” tab on the top panel.
  3. In the left hand-panel, click “Network” then “Network” right below.
  4. Change the HTTP port to an unused port between 1024 – 49151. This cannot be the same as any other port used by this camera. In this example, we used 7901.
  5. Also, change the “IP Type” to Static.
  6. Note down the HTTP port and the IP Address as you will need them later.
  7. Click "Apply" to save these settings. The camera will reboot. Please wait about 30 seconds for the camera to reboot.

As each router is different, we recommend checking out the exact process for your router at In this example, we will be using a Netgear C3000. Please click here to read our article or watch the step-by-step video tutorial on the Port Forwarding process.

  1. For the Netgear C3000, log into the router via a web browser.
  2. Then select “Advanced”, on the left panel select “Advanced Setup”, and finally “Port Forwarding/Port Triggering”.

3. Now, we need to create a custom service for the HTTP port by clicking “Add Custom Service”.

4. This brings up the Custom Services screen. Create a “Service Name” that identifies what this port is for.

5. Select the “Service Type” of “TCP”. Set the “External Starting Port” and “External Ending Port” to the HTTP port on you set on the camera.

6. Set “Internal IP address” to the IP address of your camera.

7. Click the “Apply” button and return to the previous screen.

Your HTTP port will now be forwarded to your camera.

  1. Start by opening the LiveCams Pro app.
  2. Tap the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen to open the Add Camera screen.
  3. A window will pop up asking to scan the network. Tap Cancel.

4. On the Add Camera screen, change the Camera Profile to “Foscam 9820” by tapping the button next to Camera Profile.

5. Next, fill in the following fields:

  • Label: name of the camera (up to you)
  • Username: username to login to the camera
  • Password: password to login to the camera

Local Address:

  • Host or IP: IP address of your camera (noted down from earlier)
  • HTTP Port: HTTP Port of your camera (noted down from earlier)

Remote Address:

Press the toggle button to enable Remote Address.

  • Host or IP: External IP address of your network (noted down from earlier)
  • HTTP Port: HTTP Port of your camera (noted down from earlier)

NOTE: The "Host or IP" (External IP address) in this section should be changed when  your iOS device is not on the same network as your camera. Find the external IP address of the network your iOS device is connected to by visiting or Google “what is my IP”. Input this external IP address in this field to view the camera remotely.

6. Tap the Save button in the top right and your camera has been added.
